‘I AM PREGNANT and I GOT HIRED’: Mom’s LinkedIn Post Goes Viral

A job interview can be nerve-wracking, but doing so while pregnant can be even worse.

This pregnant woman, however, was employed, and her LinkedIn post went viral!

pregnant and hired

Kaya Talent & People Operations Partner Anna Franziska Hunger wrote the following:” I was hired while pregnant.”
Being a ‘pregnant hire’ is becoming increasingly common, but it still feels like an oxymoron. As a result, I was frightened of breaking the news during interviews (despite the fact that, as a People Ops professional, I should know better) and I was advised to hide my pregnancy until I signed my contract. Despite being 6 months pregnant (again), I chose not to compromise and told the truth. My goal is to set an example for my daughter by working for a company that values and empowers working mothers with two young children.
I got the job with maternity leave, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of such a forward-looking and exciting organization. KAYA VC, thank you for believing in me. “I’m excited to get started and help more founders, people teams, and scale-ups with talent and people operations.”
She received around 80,000 likes and tens of thousands of comments on her post.
“I did, too!” After years of infertility, I found out I was pregnant a week after starting my new job. “I was clearly apprehensive about telling my supervisor, but I realized I had no choice but to do so. How did he react? Completely supportive. ‘I love recruiting parents because they know how to be efficient and they need the job to support their family,’ he said. Nevertheless, the first thing this man said was a heartfelt ‘Congratulations! ‘I completely understand, since I was recruited while pregnant as well. Thirty years ago today, “another woman added her two cents.”.Source: sunnyskyz.com
