There is no doubt that random acts of kindness occur when they are needed most! Servers at restaurants, for instance, can benefit greatly from customer service tips. It was certainly the case for the lucky server who served Isaiah Garza.
Garza asked the server about her desired tip after eating. When she finally replied, Garza’s response left her speechless.
The goal of Isaiah Garza is to do some good in the world. From humble beginnings, Garza became a big name in the fashion world.
“I have been homeless multiple times,” he said. I slept in abandoned office buildings and in my car. When I was really hungry and had nothing, I know what it’s like.”
Even though Garza struggled to find his place in the world, he always believed that things would work out if his heart was in the right place.
“Take it one step at a time and lead with positivity,” he told himself. There is a reason for everything that happens. If something doesn’t work out, maybe it was supposed to lead you somewhere else.”
Justin Bieber, Cardi B, and Chance the Rapper are among his clients thanks to his optimism and perseverance.
While studying at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Garza was on a tight budget.
In LA, I would literally go to the fashion district and figure out how to make something work with $50. I bought random supplies and put them together. When you believe in something, you will do whatever it takes to achieve it. That’s what I did. I led with love and kindness, worked hard, and prepared myself for the day when the tide would turn.”
The big break would soon come through a friend from FIDM. For his friend’s shoot with Rihanna, Garza offered his jewelry for the artist’s styling.
One “yes” changed his life forever. Garza’s inventory of jewelry immediately sold out after a French magazine with Rihanna on the cover featured Garza’s jewelry.
This lesson was taken to heart by Garza. Even a little help and positivity can make a huge difference to someone who is struggling.
It is probably for this reason that he is quite generous with customer service tips. Since then, he has helped trafficking survivors and the homeless, as well as worked with corporations to help people in need.
As long as it’s social good and it’s going back to people in need, that’s all that matters to Garza.
As a result of his collaboration with KFC, he raised half a million dollars for non-profit organizations across the country to fight hunger. He also helps random individuals and families, such as servers who rely heavily on customer service tips.
Garza surprised the server at that restaurant by asking for a tip for customer service. She initially replied she would be happy with whatever he would be willing to give, but then gave in and said she would appreciate a $20 tip.
Garza persisted, however, and asked what she really needed. The server hesitated before stating that she needed to pay her phone bill and buy a new air conditioner.
Garza didn’t hesitate to hand over a completely unexpected tip – $50 for her phone bill, and $300 for an air conditioner! “Thank you so much,” the server replied. I’ve never experienced this before.”
She was so grateful, but she immediately changed her mind. To be honest, I’ll give it to my mom. She would be most grateful for any customer service tip that would help her mother pay off her mortgage.
However, Garza’s magnanimity won’t end with customer service tips. His goal is to help more people globally, perhaps with schools in developing countries and shelters for the homeless, as well as survivors of trafficking and abuse.
He would love to host a talk show where he could help others. Garza ultimately wants to be one of the largest non-profits in the world.
“I believe that if you can just help one person, that’s one person in life you can save, and it multiplies from there,” Garza said.
The customer service tip multiplied when it reached the server’s mother. It is clear that Garza represents those who strive to make this world a better place, and he serves as an inspiration for all of us to always be willing to give others a chance.
