Teacher Buys Food For Child Who Was Going To Bed Hungry; Jennifer Lopez Responds Donating 1 Yr Supply

When a kind teacher realized what a lovely inquiry from a student in her class meant, “When is the lady who puts food in our bags coming?” she burst into tears. Brooke Goins, an elementary school teacher in Jacksboro, Tennessee, saw the significance of the child’s question: this lovely young kid was going to bed hungry every night.

Brooke gathered some funds with her coworkers, and together they ensured that this good-hearted young child would not go to bed hungry every night:

“I cried at work today. Not because I despise my job or because it is inherently difficult (it really is). Brooke wrote, “Today I sobbed for a youngster, a child who so innocently talked about food and the lack of it. He inquired as to when the lady who fills his backpack with food will arrive. It surprised me because it was our guidance counselor, and I had no idea what he required. Because it was a short week, I told him I wasn’t sure about this week. He stated that he was out of it at home and that he required more. Of course, I inquired as to what was in the bag he coveted so much. He answered no when I inquired if it was the macaroni bowls or the crackers. When I inquired if it was the spaghetti o’s, he chuckled and said no, they didn’t have any. Then something occurred… ‘Them tiny o’s (as he drew a little circle with his palm), we don’t have those at my place, but when I do, they give me a warm tummy and help me sleep,’ he added. I had a nervous breakdown and sobbed in front of 20 small children. No child should ever be hungry.”

“Now, here’s where it gets even better: I instantly sent an SMS to my group, which consists of instructors. Do you recall hearing that we spend all of our money on our classrooms? We used money to ensure that our children have all they need to achieve, and we also used it to buy meals today. Yes, we pooled our funds to ensure that this adorable infant had some spaghetti o’s!”

“I did not write anything for the purpose of receiving praise, and no one else wrote it for the purpose of receiving acclaim. I want people to understand that teachers are human beings who care about your children and want the best for them. We become upset and overwhelmed on certain days, but today we did what was best for a youngster. Will it show up on a test? Nope! Do we give a damn? Nope!”

“Today, I’m grateful for all of my classmates, large and little. It really does take a village. Being a teacher is a rollercoaster of emotions, but seeing him light up when the bag was placed in his backpack today was worth every tear! Keep your heads up, teachers! You are making a difference! We’re all weary, but we keep moving ahead every day.”

“We are now putting up a food pantry for our students. Students will have access to food at all times! If you’d like to contribute, we welcome both food and sanitary goods! Jacksboro, TN 37757, 164 Jacksboro Elementary School Road FOOD PANTRY” can be highlighted.”

Brooke’s Facebook post was shared over 40,000 times, and it even hit Jennifer Lopez and her ex-boyfriend Alex Rodriguez’s newsfeeds.

Jennifer Lopez stated, “When we learned about the children and outstanding instructors at Jacksboro Elementary in Tennessee, we knew we had to contribute.” “We heard that instructors were assisting children in bringing food home when they were in need. Not only did this tale bring tears to my eyes, but it also brought tears to Alex’s!”

The sweet pair comes from humble origins, having been born into Latino immigrant households in New York City. Brooke’s tale affected Jennifer and Alex so much that they decided to give a year’s worth of food supplies to the children at Jacksboro Elementary.

Jennifer and Alex contributed food from Tiller & Hatch, a frozen food delivery company they recently established that sells frozen soups, stews, and pastas.

“I’m not sure if you guys know, but Alex and I run a company called Tiller & Hatch, and we decided to donate a year’s worth of their delicious, nutritious meals to the children and their school’s food bank. This is why, as Latinos, being a company owner and having genuine ownership in firms (rather than licensing) is so essential to me and Alex. It’s about demonstrating to our community what life can be like. You have the ability to take command and ownership of your situation. It allows us to have a say in making products that improve people’s lives and to work with individuals who share our desire to give back. Because what truly matters is giving back and being there for others. We are grateful to work with partners that share our belief that no kid should ever go to bed hungry. Everyone should be able to eat tasty, healthy meals”, Jennifer Lopez said. “This was my favorite moment of the month, and it’s one of the finest things we’ve been able to achieve.”

Jennifer video-called Brooke to inform her that they would be giving to the instructors’ charitable initiative.

“We were moved to tears. In the video chat, Jennifer informed Brooke, “Oh my God, we were weeping.” “You know, my mother was a teacher, and we wanted to help because it was such a touching tale. We’re providing a year’s worth of meals to the student you mentioned on Facebook.”
