Paralyzed Bride Makes Her Groom’s Jaw “Drop” By Walking Down the Aisle at Wedding

The bride’s walk down the aisle is always a touching moment in a wedding ceremony. In this case, it was definitely the most emotional. Chelsie Hill, who has been paralyzed from the waist down since 2010, surprised her wedding guests with a wheelchair walk.

According to Chelsie Hill, Jay Bloomfield “hates” surprises. Nevertheless, she planned a major surprise for him on their wedding day. At her wedding, Hill knew she wanted to walk down the aisle

After becoming paralyzed, she founded the Rollettes, a wheelchair dance team in Los Angeles. Additionally, she advocates for wheelchair users and has more than 167,000 followers on Instagram.

Since 2014, she has been with Bloomfield. The Wife of the Party planned their wedding at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach.

As a child, Hill dreamed of walking down the aisle on her wedding day.

Insider quoted Hill as saying, “Sitting down in your chair is fine.”. “But growing up, I always imagined myself walking down the aisle.”

“And I just wanted to feel that – not because my disability has taken anything from me, but because I wanted to stand there eye to eye with him,” she said. “That was just something that was really important to me personally.”

She used leg braces and a walker to achieve her dream. Her custom Galia Lahav wedding dress had a removable skirt that made standing and sitting easier. The dress was paired with a veil from Galia Lahav and Verstolo jewelry. Her hair was done by Taylor Livesley, and her makeup was done by Landyn Alexa.

Hill said Bloomfield’s jaw dropped when he saw her walk
Prior to entering the aisle, Hill arranged for Bloomfield to have his back turned to the aisle. As he turned around, he saw his bride-to-be walking with her father.

Hill said Jay’s jaw dropped when he saw him.

In her words, “He was just shocked that I was walking since he had no idea what I was doing.”.

Asha Bailey, the couple’s wedding photographer, captured Bloomfield’s reaction in a TikTok.

“I felt like our souls were locked in on each other the whole time,” Hill said. “I didn’t see anyone else around me. I just saw him.”

After my accident, I wasn’t sure if I would ever find someone who truly loved me. “You have accepted me completely, honored me, and adored every aspect of me,” Hill told Bloomfield in her vows.

I wanted to do something I had always dreamed of for this moment today.

As we stand eye to eye, let’s promise our lives to one another.

Hill’s surprises didn’t end at the altar

Her wedding day included surprise choreographed dances as well. Phil Wright choreographed a dance for her and her dad, and Hill and other professional dancers performed a number choreographed by Brinn Nicole for Bloomfield. Additionally, she used her leg braces during her first dance with Bloomfield, which she described as “special.”

Hill said the dance was “so amazing.”.

“No matter how hectic my life can feel, Jay will always make me feel like I can still stop and smell the flowers,” she said.
