Usually, kittens that end up in an animal shelter have had a rough start. The stories of these furry babies are rarely pleasant, from abuse to abandonment. Despite all the struggles these kittens face, one little kitty named Blossom wasn’t giving up. In 2019, Blossom gave the cutest and most surprising smile in a photo shoot!
Blossom and her litter-mates are currently being cared for by Lauren Boutz, the foster mom. Blossom charmed Boutz with the most adorable smile while she was having photos taken of the three kittens she called “Powerpurr Girls.”
Blossom’s sweet smile was captured by Boutz, who posted it online. Immediately, the photo went viral. Thousands upon thousands of people liked and shared the picture on Facebook. Blossom’s smile was just too cute for people not to want to show their friends.
As a foster parent with the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department, Boutz specializes in caring for kittens. Besides Blossom, Boutz also highlighted her twin sisters, Bubbles and Buttercup. The kittens were only five weeks old when the pictures were posted.
Since the kitten’s photos were posted, people have continued to gush over her adorableness – especially Blossom.
In fact, some posters claim that the sweet photos even made them cry after seeing Blossom and her litter-mates!

In fact, Little Blossom has become so popular that Boutz joined a Facebook group dedicated to the sweet cat called Blossom’s Devotees, which she didn’t create. As she explained:
During the past seven years, I have fostered kittens on and off. In October 2019 – January 2020, I fostered three kittens called the Powerpurr Girls. “All three girls have been adopted by wonderful furever families and are doing great! ”
According to Boutz, “We’re all here because we love Blossom, so let’s share that love and make each other smile!”
Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup were also featured in more behind-the-scenes photos from the photo shoot. There’s no doubt that people in the comments couldn’t get enough of the kitties. A person said, “Oh my god just made my day.” Another said, “Blossom is my favorite.” A third jokingly said, “When she’s not smiling, she’s screaming.”
In October 2022, Boutz posted a photo on Instagram commemorating the photo shoot she had done three years earlier. “I can’t believe it’s been 3 years!” she wrote in the caption. “Blossom smiled for the camera.” Once again, the post inspired people to share their love for Blossom and all cats.
Despite Blossom’s popularity on social media, it’s important to remember that she isn’t the only kitten in foster care looking for a home. You can find sweet, homeless kittens at your local animal shelter if you’re interested in adding a furry friend to your home.
