14-Year-Old Boy In Foster Care Asks For “A Home and People That Love Me”

Darrious, 14, is looking forward to high school like most kids his age. He even hopes to play football and run track in the future.

Darrious hopes for a family and a place to call home more than most kids his age. Currently, he is in foster care and lives in a group home with other foster kids.

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he recently appeared on WXII’s local news channel in the hope that someone might see his story and want to adopt him. An interview with him reveals his gregarious, outgoing personality.

A day with a police officer at Greensboro Public Safety Training Facility was a special treat for Darrious, who has a wide, beautiful smile.

He rode in a patrol car, heard the siren, and learned how to give a proper handshake from Lt. Ryan Todd before his on-camera interview. To save lives, he says he wants to become a police officer or firefighter one day.

Darrious would really like to end his childhood with a family of his own, but first he has to get through his childhood. According to him, if he were adopted, he would feel,

I would be happy because I would have a home and people who love me.”

If that doesn’t c.u.t your heart in two, I don’t know what will.

According to Darrious, the local news reporter, “I am kind, loving, and always hyper.”. He also mentioned that he is always happy, and that happiness is “just his thing.”.

When you watch Darrious’ interview, you can’t help but hope that one day he will have what every child deserves: a loving home with loving parents.
