My in-laws come over without asking. They stay for hours, eat our food, and leave around 2 or 3 in the morning. My husband says, “Be nice to them; they helped us buy the house.”
Recently, I started leaving when they came. Yesterday, I came back early. My husband looked shocked, and my mother-in-law laughed when she saw me.

When I walked into the living room, I was shocked to see my husband’s four young nephews running around, ruining our expensive couch, and playing with watercolors on my carpet. I was furious; it felt like my house was a daycare.
My husband said, “I would’ve cleaned up before you got home, but you came back early tonight.”

My husband thinks we owe his parents because they helped us with money, so he says our home is also their home.
I can’t take this anymore. Am I being unreasonable, or is it okay to feel this way?
If your in-laws want to bring their grandchildren over to YOUR home , they should be the ones to keep track of them, make sure no damage is being done, and discipline them as needed. IF after having a talk with them about this, and they don’t comply, then lock your doors!
NO!!! it is not OK. Whether they helped with the house purchase or not. Your in laws raised the love of your life. Why are you so jealous of his family? Are you THAT insecure?
