An online photo has caused a meltdown after it shows a proud brother hugging his little sister at a preschool graduation ceremony.
Earlier this week, a mother named Aundrea Smith from Connecticut shared a picture of her son Derek, 8, in a bear hug with his sister Charlee, 5, who had just graduated from preschool in Fairfield County.
The ceremony was over when Derek took flowers and went to meet his cap-and-gown clad sister, Charlee, saying, “I’m just so proud of you,” as he embraced her. Charlee was overwhelmed by her brother’s actions and broke down in tears.
In addition to the photo, Smith’s sister recorded a video of Derek and Charlee’s hug.
SmᎥth is happy her children adore each other, and that the picture has brightened people’s days.
“It’s wonderful to see the positive impact this has had on other people,” Smith said about the positive comments on Facebook.
Now that Charlee is heading off to kindergarten, her mother says she is both nervous and excited about attending the same school as her brother Derek.
Thank you to these amazing parents for raising their kids right and our best wishes to Charlee for her new school year.
