Passenger Shares Story Of The ‘Flight Angel’ Who Comforted 96-year-old Woman Scared Of Flight

Some people find flying as easy as driving a car, but for others, it is a serious phobia that requires tremendous courage to overcome.

Flying frequently will eventually make you accustomed to the sensation of being in the air. Nevertheless, if you haven’t been on an aircraft in a long time, even boarding can be stressful.

Virginia, an elderly lady traveling from San Diego to Nashville on a Southwest Airlines flight in July 2019, encountered this situation.

A fellow passenger, Megan Ashley, related what happened to the grandmother and how she survived the flight thanks to her “flying angel.”

Megan overheard Virginia say in a Facebook post that she was frightened as it was the first time she had flown in 15 years.

As excited as she was to celebrate her birthday with her family in Kansas City, she wasn’t looking forward to the flight.

Virginia asked the man sitting beside her if he would mind holding her hand during takeoff. Fortunately, the stranger was more than willing to assist.

Adding to Ashley’s tweet, “she asked for this man’s hand before takeoff and hugged him again after experiencing turbulence.” “This guy, I might say, willingly held her hand in his, let her hang on to him, soothed her by talking to her and explaining everything that was going on, and was simply that stranger there for her.”

During the flight and afterward, Megan claims that a man named Ben took excellent care of the 96-year-old.

Ben helped Virginia stand up when she needed to use the toilet and watched her walk down the aisle. By holding her suitcase, he helped her get off the plane and into the wheelchair. When she was confused and wondered where her daughter had gone, the Good Samaritan waited with her until she was reunited with her.

Virginia was so grateful that she insisted on giving Ben one of her airplane pretzels.

Megan said she “walked away shedding joyful tears” after witnessing the stranger’s compassionate behavior toward the woman.

“Congratulations on your wonderful heart and compassion for someone you’ve never met, sir.”. I have never been moved so much on a plane. Megan concluded, “This definitely made my week.”

Individuals expressed their admiration of this man’s unselfish behavior in the comments section.

I am speechless!””” exclaims the speaker. That was an amazing story, Megan. We must remember that the world has many gentler people than what we see in the news! “May God bless them both!” said one.

Another added, “What a real humanitarian, simple love gestures from the heart.”

Many others had their own encounter with a “flying angel.”

During takeoff, a 14-year-old girl reached across the aisle and took my hand in hers. She assured me that everything would be fine. “I was 28 at the time,” she said.

“They brought me into the cockpit and introduced me to the pilots so I could see the controls, and the stewardesses checked on me often on my last trip since they realized I was worried. It was only a two-hour trip. I was 36 at the time.”

Megan said one of Ben’s family members noticed her post a few days after she posted it in a remark from a year ago. Since then, the two have communicated several times.

“His family was deeply moved. Megan wrote in the comment section, “He deserved to know what this gesture meant to everyone who saw it.”
