A great-grandmother in her 70s was surprised when people showed up with various gifts at her door, including her dearest friend and a group of strangers.
Ella Setzler, 72, is raising six children on her own. After raising her own children and countless grandchildren, the great-grandmother is now raising six great-grandchildren.
Ella saved the young siblings from a terrible situation and provided them with a loving and nurturing home.
She struggled to make ends meet by paying for her home, car, electricity, and groceries on her own. Due to a leak, a $900 water bill had accumulated. Ella assumed that Christmas was out of the question.
Thankfully, someone was watching over her shoulder.
Alicestine Miller, Ella’s best friend who lives in California, was worried about her and prepared a surprise for her.
She cleans for the kids, too. She’s a cook. “She’s genuinely nice,” Alice told Fox5.

After Alice contacted the Fox5 Surprise Squad, Ella’s doorstep was showered with unexpected generosity.
“We’re like sisters,” Ella told Fox5 when she answered the door and they told her Alice sent them. “She always checks on me.”
Alice, Ella’s dearest friend, was the first person the squad surprised. While the team got to work, the ladies were taken to a spa day in a black limousine.
When the two friends returned home, Ella opened the door to a house full of surprises.
Rebuilding Together and Aqua Plumbing handled her water concerns and repairs, and the balance of her water bill was covered. RC Willey and America First Credit Union were also present. She found the house fully furnished and decorated for the holidays. Toys and $500 gift cards were under the Christmas tree for each child, as well as a $500 Albertsons gift card for Ella to use for preparing dinner.
United Nissan also covered the rent for the following year.

When the children entered the house, their expressions were adorable. One child said, “It’s a tremendous Christmas miracle.” “This is the finest day of my life,” she said.
Another remarked, “It feels like I’m in a dream, but I’m not.”.
