For many people, the saying “Love finds its own way” may seem cliché, but not for these two who reconnected 30 years after becoming each other’s childhood crush.
Couple who met online and fell in love only recently found out they were preschool sweethearts.
Justin Pounders, 33, says he was ‘immediately drawn’ to Amy Giberson, 33, when he saw her photo online.
Pounders and Giberson started texting and talking on the phone before soon planning a date in St Petersberg.
Giberson says she felt the same when she first met Pounders.
The first time she saw him, she felt like she was looking at the man she would marry. The two met up every day after that, and quickly began to fall in love.
However, it was only a year later that Justin joked that he loved Amy’s name because he had a crush on a girl with a similar name during preschool.

“Well, it’s not me, so I don’t want to hear about her,’ I joked to Justin.
That’s when Amy and Justin realised they actually attended the same preschool, Sunshine Preschool, in St. Petersburg, Florida, back then.
They asked their parents to dig up some old family photos.
‘Justin’s mom found a photo of us and I just started to cry. I was the Amy he had liked all those years ago! It was definitely meant to be,’ Giberson said.

Added Pounders: ‘Someone or something decided we weren’t to meet until now.’ ‘
We have been so close to finding each other all along but it hasn’t been the right time. Now it is.’
The couple now have an Instagram account documenting their love stories.
Their preschool teacher, Diane, recalls their courtship fondly. ‘They had a blast with each other,’ said Twar.
A quiet, shy romance blossomed between them, a young love, like a sweet crush, you know?
