Shaun and Cat were together for seven years before splitting up, but they are still best friends today
Breakups are difficult, especially when you have a child together. Shaun Nyland and Cat agreed it was best to remain good friends after seven years together. Shaun Nyland paid off Cat’s mortgage for being a great mother to their 3-year-old boy, Leo, on Cat’s 31st birthday, and the story went viral online. This man posted a video on TikTok showing Cat’s reaction as he surprised her. They went on a trip together in April of this year. “I had to make sure that Leo and she were safe,” he said. I’m glad I was able to help.”. Shaun’s video was watched by more than 6.8 million people.
The video shows Shaun saying, “It’s your birthday today, and I want you to have the best birthday ever.”. Look, I know we’re not together anymore, and I’ve been so proud of you, you’re the best mom ever, so I did this. I call the bank, and I paid off the entire mortgage. The house is now yours. Cat is a little confused and wonders if he’s winding her up since this gesture is too grand. It can’t be true, she thinks. He assures her that he has paid off her loan. He said “I promise you, this house belongs to you. I called the bank, paid it off, and you own the house. Cat was amazed and impressed. In her post, she described it as her “best present ever.” ‘I had the best birthday present ever on my 31st birthday last night.’, she wrote. My ex paid off my entire mortgage.”.
One person said, “That’s how you co-parent.” Others questioned why Shaun would do such a big thing for Cat when they were not together. After posting the video, the man explained his actions. He explained that he did it not just for her, but for their child, too. Shaun continued “At the end of the day, my ex-girlfriend gave me the best gift any man could ask for by bringing Leo into this world and I know it was tough for Cat to try and live the same lifestyle we lived but by herself,”
“Honestly, I’m still shaking right now. I’m so grateful I’ve been able to do this for Cat, but also for my baby, so that he’ll always have a roof over his head, and I just think if you can do that, then why not? “It was a no-brainer for me.” he said.
A person wrote, “Now that is a true gentleman, respecting your baby mother and providing for her. When Shaun was asked what happened between them, he said they had been together for seven years and tried to resolve the issue. However, after it didn’t improve, they decided to end their relationship. He said it was difficult. He shared that he worked on himself, both physically and mentally, so his son could have the best life possible.
