Grieving Mum Broke Out Into Tears At Note Stranger Hands Her During Flight With Daughter

Lindsay Mains praised the stranger because of his kindhearted gesture towards the mum, her husband Nick and daughter Olive when they travelled together on a plane for the first time since their daughter Luna left her life.

At the best of times, traveling with young children can be stressful. One family was even more emotional after losing their two-year-old daughter just a few months earlier.

A stranger’s kindness turned what they expected would be a difficult time into something wonderful.

Lindsey Mains went viral on social media after sharing the sweet note a stranger handed the mum and her husband Nick during the flight.

Luna, the couple’s two-year-old daughter, passed away in July after being diagnosed with blood cancer.

This devastating loss is something Lindsay, her husband Nick, and daughter Olive are still coming to terms with.

Recently, they decided to take a flight to see family – and ended up experiencing an emotional journey thanks to a fellow passenger named Richard.

He handed Lindsay and Nick a card during the flight. He wrote: “My name is Richard.” I have four children, and I know you are exceptional parents. You are kind and patient, and the world needs that.

“Just wanted to say that. God Bless, RJ.”

“Sometimes, you need to be reminded of the goodness in the world,” Lindsay said.

Our family finally took a cross-country flight to see our family after losing our youngest in July.

“We boarded the plane with heaviness knowing we were going to our home away from home, but we were unable to bring our youngest daughter with us.

While we knew tantrums were inevitable, we have been working to help our oldest learn tools for handling big feelings.

This means that tantrums can last for some time as she works through all of her feelings.

“We looked at each other and decided that our relationship with her was more important than our relationship with the strangers on the plane.

Then, just as I was preparing for angry looks or comments, Richard reached across the aisle and handed us this handwritten note which made me cry and totally turned our day around.

“Be the Richard in a world of Karens. Reach across the aisle and remember you never know what people are going through.”

After watching the video, many people shared similar stories of kindness they had experienced unexpectedly.

It’s really that simple. You never know what other people are going through.

One mum wrote, “Thank you Richard for showing this family grace and love.”.

A passenger wrote: “My son was having a tantrum mid-flight, and the lady next to us let him use her iPad to calm him.”
