Paris Williams may only be entering first grade this fall, but this little girl has big dreams and a big heart. She has been helping the underprivileged, specifically the homeless, since last year.
A book called “One Boy’s Magic” by Cari Chadwick Deal inspired the 6-year-old from Kirkwood, Missouri, to help people living on the streets.
“I wanted to give some food to the homeless like the boy in the book,” she said.
So she did.
She asked her mom, Alicia Marshall, how she could help the homeless last year.
When she was reading books at school about giving, she came home one day and said, “I want to give back to the homeless.”. How can we help?’” Alicia recalled.
After brainstorming, they decided to distribute care packages filled with food, water, and other essentials. The goods were gathered by her parents, while Paris placed them in the bags and added a sweet note. These were called “Paris Care Packages.”
She replied, “I’d help put all the food in and draw all the pictures on the bags.”.
Paris and her parents have delivered over 500 care packages to homeless people in their area.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, they had to switch to no-contact drop-offs, but their gifts were no less loving.
Paris has also donated around 250 meals to essential workers in their area in addition to distributing care packages. This Thanksgiving, she plans to hold a hot-food drive for the homeless and raise funds for Christmas toys for children.
A Good Samaritan is also launching her own charity. Upon approval of the paperwork, Paris Cares Foundation will become an official non-profit. Paris will continue to help people in need in the meantime.
With all that’s happening in the world, this little child entering first grade has such a big heart,” Alicia said. “She wants to give back. Her goal is to help others.”
With her incredible generosity and kindness, Paris continues to inspire her parents every day. The hundreds of strangers she has helped feel the same way.
“She is a very outgoing person. She has a creative mind.
Her heart is big. Her daughter is always willing to help others,” Alicia said.
She is the driving force behind everything, and we are just doing our best to support her.
Paris hopes to accomplish more than just improving the lives of individuals in need.
“I want to inspire people to do good,” she said.
Paris launched a fundraiser to support her mission in 2019. She has already collected $1,000 and $2,500 of her first two goals. She is now aiming to reach her third goal of $5,000. The fundraiser has so far raised $3,164. You can also purchase t-shirts and masks from her Bonfire account. Feeding the homeless will be the sole purpose of all profits.
With all the horrible things happening in the world, more and more people are craving good news that gives hope, just like this one about a little girl with a big heart. Watch the video below to learn more about Paris’ story.
