Moms Are Applying Makeup Before Giving Birth To Look Good For Social Media Followers

Although there are some circumstances when apply make-up is the last thing on your mind, for some people that isn’t the case.

Putting on make-up is what matters most to them, even in the most uncomfortable situations. Research conducted in Britain found that 68% of women put make-up on the day they give birth just to look good for their social media followers.

A new global trend

According to research, two-thirds of expectant mothers, between the ages of 18 and 31, invest in beauty treatments before giving birth. Half of them are getting manicures or pedicures, and a third are getting spray tans.
Instagram snaps appear to be becoming a global trend, accepted by new mothers all over the world. It’s called “post-birth beautifying”.

The American make-up artist Alpha Karimi’s story

While preparing for birth, the American make-up artist Alaha Karimi posted pictures of herself applying layers of foundation and perfecting the powder just before giving birth. By doing so, she was able to distract herself from the pain of contractions. She joked that since the bridal make-up could survive wedding tears, it could even survive her ten-hour labor.

The Australian make-up artist Tegan Woodford’s story

As another example, a mother-to-be claimed that applying make-up before labour made her more relaxed and sped up the process. Tegan Woodford, an Australian make-up artist, posted this story about her sister-in-law, who she gave a complete makeover before she delivered.

A Californian mom’s story

This example has also been followed by a Californian mom. As a result of the ‘false alarm’, she got to the hospital earlier than expected, so she applied a little make-up.

When it comes to the period before delivering the baby, the eyebrows and eyelashes are also important. Moms-to-be often do these two things before they deliver their babies.

Post-birth pictures

Moms who apply make-up for their post-birth pictures are examples of this. This is especially true for young moms between 18 and 32 years old.
